Chittu: Why do you say “an”?

Valli: If the first letter of a ‘one’ word is a, e, i, o, u, we say “an”.

Note to the teacher: Explain to children that we add “an” before vowel sounds (sounds of a,e,i,o,u) and “a” before the sounds of other letters.
