Book Back, Exercise, Example Numerical Question with Answers, Solution : 4th Maths : Term 1 Unit 1 : Geometry : Exercise 1.1c (center, radius and diameter of a circle)

A. Fill in the blanks.

1. All the radii of a circle are Equal.
2. The Diameter is the longest chord of a circle.
3. A line segment joining any point on the circle to its center is called a Radius of the circle.
4. A line segment with its end points on the circle is called a Chord.
5. Twice the radius is Diameter.

B. Find the diameter of the circle.

1. Radius = 10cm
Radius = 10 cm
\[Diameter = 2 \times radius\] \[= 2 \times 10 = 20 \text{ cm}\] Diameter = 20 cm
2. Radius = 8cm
Radius = 8 cm
\[Diameter = 2 \times radius\] \[= 2 \times 8 = 16 \text{ cm}\] Diameter = 16 cm
3. Radius = 6cm
Radius = 6 cm
\[Diameter = 2 \times radius\] \[= 2 \times 6 = 12 \text{ cm}\] Diameter = 12 cm

C. Find the radius of the circle.

1. Diameter = 24 cm
\[Radius = \frac{diameter}{2}\] \[= \frac{24}{2} = 12 \text{ cm}\] Radius = 12 cm
2. Diameter = 30 cm
\[Radius = \frac{diameter}{2}\] \[= \frac{30}{2} = 15 \text{ cm}\] Radius = 15 cm
3. Diameter = 76 cm
\[Radius = \frac{diameter}{2}\] \[= \frac{76}{2} = 38 \text{ cm}\] Radius = 38 cm
